A 3km palm fringed sandy beach that’s a bit of Paradise on earth. India wasn’t the first place I thought of looking for the “perfect beach” but that’s almost what we found in Palolem. A local planning restriction means that there are no permanent brick buildings with eyeshot of the beach, so what has developed is a string of restaurants…

There is also a surprising amount of good restaurants in the area; some are even outstanding in fact. To make it easier for you while you are here we list all the restaurants in Palolem and we include a brief description of what to expect.

Most people may opt to just laze on the beach while they are here but if you want a more active holiday in Palolem or would like to discover something of the local Goan culture and way of life, there is plenty to do. Our list of activities is just a taster.
